Workshop: The Digital Transition

During the day you will be able to meet and discuss the latest development for digital media with media researchers, media trainers and journalists with experiences from South Asia.
Launched in 2015, the Sweden–South Asia Media Project aims to study and report on the growing digital media landscape in South Asia and link these results together with the development of the Swedish media landscape. The purpose is to create a forum for exchange of ideas, perspectives and future outlooks on the South Asian and Swedish media landscapes.
Media and Innovation Day 2016 in Mumbai
We invite you a one day media workshop on social innovation in a digital context. If you are a journalist, media entrepreneur, social innovator or a student working in the intersection of human rights and technology, then we look forward to seeing you in Mumbai on October 13, 2016!
The Media and Innovation workshop will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs and journalists on a common ground to explore solutions that use technology to promote human rights. The day will include inspirational speakers, presentations by the winning candidates of our #InnovationForGood Award, which will honour one enterprise or individual from India for their work in social innovation in a digital context. The award carries a cash prize of INR 100,000, and it will recognise innovators who have created platforms at the intersection of technology, media and human rights. Read more about how to apply here
The event is arranged by Swedish South Asian Studies Network (SASNET) and Centre for Work, Technology and Social Change (WTS) at Lund University in Sweden.

During 2015 we organized two explorative workshops where the aim was to focus on the future media landscapes in India and Sweden. The workshops will also link Indian and Swedish media researchers and journalists together to seek new ways of working with future challenges and also to highlight possible projects.

Indian media researchers and journalists presented their experiences and outlooks on the current and future media landscape. During several panel talks they exchanged their views with Swedish journalists and researchers.
